We help veterans with food, clothing, emergency grants, donated vehicles, housing, and connections to trusted community resources. Our work focuses on stability and independence.

What is the housing project’s current status?
Hero’s Independence Housing Project has one tiny home operating in Carson City. We are renovating the property and working to acquire three more homes. Contact our team for current housing availability and next steps.

How many veterans have you helped?
More than 150 veterans have received help through food, clothing, emergency grants, donated vehicles, housing, or resource connections. We have awarded 10 grants and donated two cars.

How can I support your work?

How is the organization funded?
Founder Canyon Sparks invested more than $15,000 of his own money to launch the nonprofit. Our work is supported by individual donations, fundraising, recurring donors, sponsorships, events, partnerships, grants, and in-kind contributions.

How are donations used?
Donations support direct veteran assistance, housing initiatives, resource connections, staff compensation, fundraising, and essential operating expenses. We work to reduce costs where practical and use funds responsibly to sustain our programs.

Where can I review financial information?
Visit Transparency & Accountability for organizational information and document status. Applicable IRS filings and financial summaries will be posted when completed and available after our fiscal-year reconciliation. Contact us with questions in the meantime. IRS filings vary in detail; Form 990-N is a basic annual notice and does not itemize every expense.

Has donor money funded unrelated personal expenses?
No. Donor funds support the organization’s mission, veteran programs, operations, and fundraising. Legitimate staff compensation and organizational expenses are included; unrelated personal spending is not.

How much has the organization raised?
As of October 1, 2026, Veterans Alliance USA had raised approximately $160,000 in total. The $800,000 figure circulated online does not reflect our fundraising totals. We encourage questions based on financial records and verified information.

Who leads the organization?
Founder and Executive Director Canyon Sparks has more than six years of nonprofit experience, including fundraising training and executive leadership, two years of college business classes, and nonprofit leadership coursework. He seeks guidance from experienced mentors and is accountable to the Board of Directors and the community.
